81 Piece, ASME Grade 0, Square CERA (Ceramic) Series 516 Inch Square Gage Block Set

All Mitutoyo gage blocks meet or exceed all known specifications. The flatness, parallelism and surface finish necessary to achieve the required accuracies are the same as or better than government requirements.

A Square Gage Block can retain stable orientation both longitudinally and laterally. A wide range of application measurements can be made, including cutting tool positioning, angle measurement with a sine bar, taper measurement with a roller, and inspection of depth micrometers.

Grade 0 gage blocks are commonly used in workshop and inspection applications to calibrate and inspect mechanical parts and tools, to verify the accuracy of plug and snap gages, and to set electronic measuring devices. Ceramic blocks are harder than steel, and resist corrosion, abrasion, and burrs, withstand high temperatures without melting (high thermal expansion resistance), and provide dimensional stability. These gage blocks have a square base for accurate wringing, to attain a height reference standard, and for the ability to make a dedicated inspection jig. The nominal length of each block is measured in inches, and is indicated with laser-etched, black characters. The length of a gage block is usually slightly shorter than its stamped nominal length, to account for the thin layer of oil or wring film used when two or more blocks are wrung together. An identification number is laser-etched on each block for traceability. The set comes with a fitted wooden case for storage.

The set includes a Mitutoyo inspection certificate [National Institute of Standards in Engineering (NIST)-traceable]
